To initiate the online dispute resolution through the ODR Platform there are some requirements which must be fulfilled.
First, as a consumer, you must have your residence in one of the EU member states. Similarly, the trader against whom you make the complaint must have the head office in one of the EU member states. Through the ODR Platform can be solved both national disputes (where the consumer and the trader come from the same state) and cross-border disputes (where the consumer and the trader come from different states).
Through the ODR Platform can be solved disputes linked to products and services online purchases - through a website or through another electronic means (for example, by e-mail). So, if you bought a mobile phone from a website and you have problems with the warranty, and the trader does not solve your problem, you can try solving the dispute through the ODR Platform.
Alternatively, if the product or service was bought offline, for example from a classic shop, you will not be able to use the ODR Platform to solve your problem.
