The ODR Contact Point (Online Dispute Resolution) is an office working inside the European Consumer Centre Romania, with a separate activity from it.
ECC Romania was designated through art. 26 from OUG nr. 38/2015 on alternative dispute resolution to give assistance through the ODR Contact Point to consumers wanting to use the online dispute resolution to solve their problems.
The ODR Contact Point gives consumers, but also to other interested parties, a series of free information and assistance services in order to enable them to solve their online disputes through the alternative dispute resolution procedures (ADR) which can be accessed using the ODR Platform made available by the European Commission.
The ODR Contact Point does not solve complaints and cannot give a solution to consumers, but can only intervene before the initiation of the procedure through the ODR Platform.
In the European Union there are 29 ODR Contact points, one for each Member State (at this time the Contact Points in France, Poland and Romania are not functional).
